About Us
Holly D. Dye is the founding contributor and General Editor of Refocusing Our Eyes. She began ROE in June of 2009 as she was faced with a crisis in her faith. She had been in the Word of Faith camp for many, many years, but began to question its core doctrines as well as its interpretation of the scriptures.
“So much of what I had received as truth, was merely man’s attempt at presenting a gospel of luxury and comfort. Just as the world has the phrase, “if it feels good, do it”, this particular camp of professing Christianity, leaned heavily on, “if it feels good, it must be the Holy Ghost”. Therefore, I witnessed more blatant heresy than I care to communicate.”
Today Holly is a Particular Baptist, subscribing to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. She has a passion for reformation in the churches world-wide, but possesses a particular burden for India and its people. The exaltation of Christ Jesus, among the nations, is the driving force behind her desire to lay down every comfort and lovingly sacrifice her all for the sake of the gospel.
Jay Dharan is the Theological Editor at Refocusing Our Eyes. Jay is the founding contributor at Beacon of Truth, an Evangelical ministry aimed at proclaiming and promoting the supremacy and sufficiency of the gospel, for the church to treasure God in Christ, and worship Him at any cost. Jay regularly blogs at Theoblogy. As an Evangelical Christian, he passionately seeks to be radically gospel centered in his life and preaching. He is also a Particular Baptist believer, considering the 1689 Baptist Confession as his confessional standard. He hails from an aristocratic Hindu family in India, from which God mercifully saved him, through his reading of the Scriptures.
“Once I was a hindu, a heathen of all heathens who has been shown grace by God and is now engaged in Bible preaching and teaching ministry.”
Jay hopes to join seminary soon for his master level theological training and then, God willing, enter pastoral ministry in India, all for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Refocusing Our Eyes is aimed at seeing a doctrinal reformation of local churches, using the writings of Christians, mostly of the bygone age. Our prayer is that in this endeavor, God would be glorified and His people be edified. May He so guide our thoughts, that we may be preserved from anything that would pervert His truth, dishonor His Excellency or mislead His people, all of which we love so dearly by the grace of God. All that we are and ever will be belongs to the Lord. We long to magnify Christ and Him alone and for this we constantly refocus our eyes to His cross. It is our firm conviction that true exposition of the Scriptures will invariably cause us to keep the gospel and thereby the Christ of the gospel at the center of our lives. Hence we recommend the writings of Christian ministers of the bygone age, for they expounded Scriptures faithfully and displayed Christ’s glory in far greater magnificence than most preachers of today. Taking heed to this gospel-centered, Christ exalting light of Scriptures, we shall continually live a life with refocused eyes.
